Let's Spread the Good News!

Bring Christ to the world and the world to Christ. - Unknown

I love this quote! It sets out perfectly our mission as Catholics. And even more so for those of us who work for the Church. It is with these words in mind that I conceived the idea for Creative Catholic Content.

Having worked for the Church for nearly two decades, I have experienced first hand the adage "so much to do, so little time!" I have also seen priests and parish staff struggling with the same issues and I wanted to find a way to help.

I thought if I could create and curate various types of ready made content that could be used for bulletins, websites, Facebook, Instagram and more, that I could be part of the solution for parishes. I have been writing and creating for the Catholic church for years, so I've learned a few things along the way that I hope can prove helpful to you.

My Story

My own story is probably not that different from yours. I have been a lifelong Catholic. I grew up in a Catholic family, went to Catholic schools and went to church every Sunday. I have always had a great love for our Catholic Faith, so much so that I have spent almost two decades working for the Church.

As a kid, I dreamed of becoming a lawyer. In fact, I did go to law school and was called to the bar many years ago. While I did enjoy the challenges of being a lawyer, I can't say I loved it. So when I got the chance to work with our bishop, I jumped at it. Not too surprisingly, I initially started working in the area of Canon Law. But it was not long before I also started becoming involved in pastoral ministry, in particular family and life issues.

Over the years I have been involved in numerous different ministries and aspects of the Church. By and large I have found a lot of joy in serving the Good Lord, our clergy and my fellow parishioners.

I have run Vacation Bible Schools, I have organized concerts, events and fundraisers. At one point I even started a blog for kids "written" by the Church Dogs: Cloë and Tallulah Belle.

Creativity Meets Online Tools

Although I cannot draw to save my life, I am nevertheless very creative and have no end of ideas. And with the advent of tools such as Google, Canva, ChatGPT and VEED.IO, I and anyone else can create beautiful and interesting content.

Over the years, I have learned a lot about these types of tools and how best to use them. I have also done a lot of learning about colours and fonts and design. It's this type of information that I hope to share with you the readers.

In fact, it is my hope that this blog will convince you that you too can be creative so that you can begin making attractive content to use on your parish website and social media.
